The Easy Way To Add A Voice Interface To Your Mobile App
Introducing Spokestack Tray, a mobile UI Library for voice
Hello!
You know the ol' saying, "no news is good news"? In 2020, that adage could not ring more true. At Spokestack, no news usually means we're busy working on something new—which is exactly what we've been doing since our last update.
Introducing Spokestack Tray
Spokestack Tray is a mobile library that lets developers easily add a voice interface to their existing app. It incorporates all of our voice services into one easy-to-add package. Those of you who have been with us from the beginning will recognize that our demo is using assets from our old Bartender smart speaker skill to showcase Spokestack Tray. See it in action below:
Want to try it for yourself? You can by downloading our demo Bartender app that uses Spokestack Tray on iOS or Android.
Why did we build Spokestack Tray?
This post above sums it up really well. In short, we needed to provide an easier on-ramp for mobile developers to bring conversational interfaces to their mobile apps. We're hoping Tray will make it easier for mobile developers to add voice to their apps.
We have a number of mobile voice tutorials to get developers started quickly:
We are close to finished with our Android/Java Tray library as well. As soon as we release that library, we'll also release a tutorial for Android. In fact, expect more tutorials and examples, along with some live help sessions over the new few months.
Finally, we have two more projects in development that we are super excited to tell you about in our next update. Both continue our mission of allowing developers to have full control of their voice interfaces and customer conversations, wherever they may take place. More on that next time!
